#NotSittingOnMyAssThisSummer: Day trip to Bratislava

I have been traveling through Europe and slowly visiting many interesting places here. I've been up North or in South, I visited three out of our four neighbouring countries, but I've never been to Slovakia even though many people in Czechia still call people there our brothers. And since it's only 3 hours away by train I took my friend, backpack, camera and jumped on a morning train...
We came to Bratislava around 10AM so we had whole day ahead of us. And I have to admit that one day was definitely enough to see the most important sights in the capital of Slovakia. We managed to see everything also because we joined Free walking tour. If you've never heard about it, it's tour which takes place in almost every bigger city and it's usually in English. Before arriving to your destination you only have to look up the meeting place and time and then just join (usually quite big) group of people. And how much does it cost? In the end you decide yourself how much you liked the tour and how much you're going to pay to the guide.
I've tried a few of these free walking tours in last few months and I usually liked them because they are really good. You get the chance to know a bit more about the city you're visiting and usually guides try to make it not only full of information but also funny so you enjoy the tour more. This one in Bratislava was even more interesting for me because I already knew many historical facts but here I got to learn more and from maybe a bit different point of view.
It was also good to join this tour because our guide brought us through the whole Old and New town so the only important thing left to visit after the tour was Bratislava castle. And trust me, it's worth visiting because the hill is not really high but you still get to enjoy beautiful view, mostly of the other part of the city on the other side of Dunabe.
If you haven't been to Bratislava yet, go! It's worth visiting and you only need one day to see the main sights. Specially the Old town is small but beautiful :)
