Have you ever spent a few months or years living abroad? I'm pretty sure that if your answer is yes you'd understand my opinion that this experience is really different from what we all know from vacations and holidays. I'd even call it a life changing experience...

I only spent 5 months in Sweden as an Erasmus student but it had already helped me to see my life and world differently. As I said at the beginning, I think that living abroad can change your life (as it has mine) and the way you see things. 

But I have talked to many of my friends after I came home from 5 months in Sweden and I realised that there are many people who would like to go but not everyone is brave enough to do that! I think that I'm the perfect example of a shy person who jumped into it and had the best time of his life. But it might not be enough... so I thought that I'd come up with series of interviews with people who are or were living abroad. Why?

FoodPorn: Sweet/Salty Peanut Butter Bars

I'm pretty sure we all know that feeling when we are scroll through our facebook feed and suddenly we see recipe video - suddenly you're almost drooling and you say to yoursel: "I'm so gonna make this!" ... Well, that happens a lot but then I actually never prepare the dish. This time I did tho!

This is definitely the unhealthiest food that I've ever prepared but it's also one of the tastiest as well :) If you like sweet and salty combination, you'll love it! This is foodporn at it's best, especially for peanut butter lovers ... Is your cheat day coming? This is something you have to make!

Kutná Hora is second mostly visited Czech town after Prague and one of the reasons why is its famous church - St Barbara's Cathedral and its surroundings.

Kutná Hora is small but beautiful city only one hour by train from Prague and from place where I live it's only 20 minutes by car. I've been there a couple of times and this time when I found out that I'll have to go there and that I'll have a bit of time to look around, I decided to take my camera with me to take a few shots.

I'm pretty sure you all know that feeling when you're supposed to study but you do anything else instead. Right now I should be studying for one of my exams but cooking and then writing about it seems like a betterway to spend time right now!

I have to admit that I'm not really fan of zucchini but because we had some left at home that I didn't want to throw away I tried to bake it stuffed with minced meat, cheese and tomatoes. I didn't really follow any recipe, it is that kind of dish made of leftovers. But it's really tasty and quick! 

Travel Tips: My Top 5 Restaurants in Prague

As a person who's been living in Prague for 2 years and visiting this beautiful city a lot before that as well I feel like I can already give you some tips that would help you when visiting... and what else could I start with than with food!

As a tourist I prefer to try local dishes but it can sometimes be a bit tricky because the restaurants in the centres of big cities are usually really expensive and it's actually not guaranteed that the food there is good. Of course you can look at TripAdvisor and see the reviews but I think that the very best option is to ask locals! They know where to go for good food that actually tastes the way it is supposed to and what's more, it usually happens to be less expensive! 

NotSittingOnMyAssThisSummer: Trip to Budapest, Hungary

V červnu jsem spolu se svými kamarády z Erasmu cestovala po Evropě a jednou z našich zastávek byla Budapešť, hlavní město Maďarska. I když je to už trošku déle, co jsem se z cest vrátila, pořád vám chci alespoň ukázat fotky a podělit se o zážitky (a to i přes to, že jsem si s sebou nezvala foťák - v tomto článku jsem vysvětlovala proč).

Do Budapešti jsme se z Prahy vydali vlakem a po odpoledním příjezdu a ubytování (dopočuju airbnb, ceny sice nebyly zas o tolik nižší, ale za to najdete opravdu skvělé podmínky a hlavně lokality bytů v centru :)) jsme hned vyrazili na hlavní náměstí, abychom společně s Maďary sledovali fotbalový zápas Maďarska ve skupině Eura. Večer jsme společně s celým národem oslavili historickou výhru národního týmu v několika hezkých barech :)

One Day Back in Time

Nevím, jak se to mohlo stát, ale vůbec jsem nezaznamenala, že se připravuje osmá kniha Harryho Pottera. O připravované divadelní hře jsem věděla, nečekala jsem ale, že by vyšla i knižně... Pár dní před jejím uvedením na trh jsem se o ní ale přece jen dozvěděla. Ještě aby ne, takový humbuk kolem ničeho dlouho nebyl (o Pokemon Go pomlčím...)! A knihu jsem samozřejmě musela mít...

Jenže jít si pro ni až druhý den ráno, potom co byl oficiálně zahájen prodej, byla fatální chyba a já tak musela na pokračování Harryho příběhu čekat celý týden. A čekat, když všude na sociálních sítích vidíte fotky a reakce, těšíte se ještě o to víc...

Protože momentálně trávím léto doma na vesnici, můžu si rána udělat přesně taková, jaká si přeji. Jenže, to bych nesměla být líná... Takže ráno se prostě jen válím v posteli, projíždím sociální sítě a když se konečně vyhrabu z peřin, nasypu si müsli do mléka a bezmyšlenkovitě se nasnídám. Což o to, stěžovat si nemůžu, protože bych taky mohla chodit do práce nebo do školy, a na nějaký ranní klid bych mohla úplně zapomenout. Občas je ale fajn si to ráno opravdu zpříjemnit...

Každý občas zažíváme momenty, u kterých bychom rádi, aby snad ani neskončily. A i když víme, že přece jen jednou skončí, je nám jasné, že na ně nikdy nezapomeneme... A abyste viděli, že nemyslím pouze ty speciální a velké dny, které se vám často pod pojmem nezapomenutelný moment vybaví (svatba, promoce, narození potomka,..), první článek věnuji jednomu krásnému západu slunce na doslova magickém místě...

Léto je tu a my všichni projíždíme instagram a vzdycháme nad fotkami z dovolených a cest... Jenže pak kolem sebe taky často slyším věty typu: ,,Nojo, když já se letos nikam nedostanu." nebo ,,Já budu v létě sedět akorát tak na zadku." Chápu, že ne každý z nás má peníze na dovolenou na Maledivách, ale co takhke se přece jen pokusit v létě cestovat?

It's summer time and we are all scrolling through instagram full of beautiful pictures from vacations and travels... But then I also hear many sentences like: "Oh well, I won't go anywhere this summer." Or "I'll only sit on my ass this summer." And I understand that not everyone can afford summer vacation at Maldives but we can all still try to travel! 

 

Právě sedím v Budapešti na hotelu a přemýšlím, jak moc mne cestování baví. Sotva před čtrnácti dny jsem se vrátila z Erasmu ve Švédsku, kde jsme toho nacestovali hodně, a už jsem znovu na cestách. Jenže si také uvědomuji, že až se za tři týdny vrátím domů, čeká mě celkem nudné léto. Nebo?
